1. Partner Pre-Configures Device
Devices are pre-configured by the partner directly through the Withings API.
Authentication
As part of the pre-configuration process, and account is created for the user and the partner securely retrieves the necessary access tokens required to access the user health data later.
2. User Unboxes Device
The user simply unboxes the pre-configured device, turns it on, and begins using it—no phone or additional setup required. This enables a smooth, immediate start with minimal technical steps, allowing users to focus on their health from day one.
3. Device Transmits Data via Cellular Network
The device automatically transmits collected health data to Withings' secure servers over the cellular network. If the end user is in a cellular dead zone, a Wi-Fi/BLE fallback option is available to ensure an alternative is always provided.
4. Data is Stored in HDS/HIPAA-compliant Cloud
Data is stored securely in Withings' cloud, compliant with HDS and HIPAA standards. This step ensures that user health information is safeguarded, meeting healthcare regulations and protecting privacy.
5. Partner Accesses Data via API
Using the user’s access token, the partner retrieves health data through the Withings API. A real-time notification and webhook system further enhances data access, allowing the partner to stay updated with the latest health insights.
