Withings offers its services on different clouds depending on your medical certification needs. Although the APIs are identical on every cloud, make sure to call the appropriate URLs depending on the cloud you have chosen.
Withings EU Medical Cloud / Public Cloud and Withings US Medical Cloud are separate environments. To avoid major issues, you should only use one of them.
Prerequisites
Cloud name / medical certification | Prerequisites |
---|---|
EU Medical Cloud / Public Cloud GDPR compliant, ISO 27001:2017 and HDS certified | No prerequisites, available for free. Click here to find out about free accounts limitations. |
US Medical Cloud US based, ISO 27001:2017 certified, HIPAA and GDPR compliant | Only available for partners having signed a contract with Withings. |
- You will not be able to access the Withings Medical Cloud services until you sign a Business Associate Agreement with Withings.
- If you plan to test the Withings API before obtaining access to Withings Medical Clouds, you can start by using our EU Public Cloud, as the APIs are identical. When your Medical Cloud environment is ready, you will need to create a new Medical Cloud developer application and target the corresponding endpoint.
Create your Application
First, create the Withings account that will be used for your integration. Although using your personal Withings account is possible, we recommend that you create a new account for your organization.
Creating an Application will provide you with a cliendId
and client_secret
that you will use to access our services.
